Caroline Conway (Human Resources) and Sandra Grogan (Quality Control) were recipients of the 2008 Beckman Coulter European Performance Excellence Award. The award recognises Beckman Coulter employees who have performed to a high level or achieved a notable goal during the year. Caroline and Sandra were two of only twenty recipients throughout the Beckman Coulter European organisation of over 2000 people to receive this award. They will travel to Morocco in May to receive this award at a special corporate recognition ceremony.
Beckman Coulter is one of the world's leading manufactures of laboratory testing equipment and has had a presence in Ireland since 1972. Over the years, ongoing investment in new product lines has seen the Mervue Galway based plant grow its workforce to almost 200 employees. In 2008 it agreed a joint 4 year research programme with the National University of Ireland Galway which will see the development of some leading edge molecular diagnostic blood tests over the coming years.
