KPW Print made their own piece of history last month, by becoming the first print solutions company to achieve ISO13485:2003 certification. The certification was awarded to KPW Print by the independent management system certification body BQAI. The standard specifies the requirements for a quality management system where an organisation needs to demonstrate its ability to provide medical devices and related services that consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Established for over 60 years, KPW Print is an approved supplier of product information leaflets and booklets to a growing list of medical technology and pharmaceutical companies in Ireland. With its recent certification to ISO13485:2003 KPW Print plans further development and growth of its business within the life science sector in Ireland. From its head office in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway KPW Print run a 28,000 sq. ft production and warehouse facility. Its implementation of lean manufacturing principles makes it one of the most efficient print solution providers in Ireland. KPW Print is also certified to ISO9001:2008, ISO27001:2006 and ISO14001:2004, these are management systems for Quality, Information and the Environment respectively.
KPW Print is only one of a handful of print companies that succeeded in growing its turnover since 2009. It the last month KPW Print was awarded the contract to print the 3M Polling Cards for the European Stability Treaty. At the start of this year the business completed a new three year plan that will see the business grow and move into new areas of print management. In support of its growth strategy the company has also invested €250,000 in its digital print capability with the purchase of the Xerox™ Color 1000 Press and the Xerox Nuvera™ 144 Production System. This investment more than doubles their digital print capacity and moves the business into a new league in terms of print quality and personalisation capability.
